Half-truth: Playin’ it cool

September 7th, 2007 by alli

I try to play cool, actin’ like what you do don’t phase me. Meanwhile, I’m sittin’ at home, all alone, tryin’ to keep myself from going crazy. [1]

And then I get busy, tryin’ new things like tennis and salsa. Things I never had the guts for before I got hit. Now all I want to do is new stuff because I’m not just playin’ it cool, yo. I’m bein’ cool. I’ll dress up real classy then I’ll mix it up and dress down real hot.

Tomorrow I’m goin’ clubbin’, gonna dance like a goofball. Imma meet someone and maybe we won’t drive each other bonkers. A friend of a friend or a guy on the dance floor. It’s time for recklessness. To go home real late or not at all.

I’m bein’ immature, I know, but so are you. Except I’m excused coz I’m young that way. I wanna act young coz I am young. I make my mistakes. I blunder like I’m blind. That’s the way it goes, yo.

That’s the way I fall.

Notes:

1. So those aren’t my words. They’re lyrics, what else?! From my current fave, “Baby Don’t Go” by Fabolous ft. T-Pain.
2. I’m tired and I have to wake up for class tomorrow so this was just a “blah, I need to blog” entry. Raw. Youch. Bleed on.
