Fly By

It’s been uber busy these past weeks. Not that I mind the days flying by - I enjoy my work, I just wish I had more time for it, and then time for other duties. I’m on the site team, which is exactly where I want to be, but I also get curious about how the other parts of the company work. It’s always helpful to have insight into how everything works together. Sometimes gaps are identified and then fixed, like last week.

I like the concept of orienting new people about each aspect of the process. Everyone should have an idea of what everyone else is doing. Then each person knows the role they play in the huge network of spinning wheels, and who to go to when things break. Even a high-level understanding would be sufficient, though I’d want to get a more comprehensive overview. I’d need to know a lot more than I do now to be able to connect the dots.
